Let's meet

Current events 2025

I regularly hold events online and on site in Stockholm or together with my fantastic partners in various locations. The following events are planned for 2025 (updated regularly):

Retreat day: Spring Flow with Somatic Movement and Forest Bathing

Date: Saturday, May 17th at 10-16.30 (CET) in Bagarmossen (Stockholm). A day for those who long to rest, release unnecessary muscle tension and experience spring at its most beautiful. We start indoors in the cozy yoga studio with Somatic Movement in the morning to get deep rest and relaxation. After lunch we go out into the forest and are guided in exercises to deepen our presence in harmony with the forest and the spring greenery. This event will be in Swedish. Read more here

Somatic Sunday: Align Your Spine

Date: Sunday, May 25th at 10:00-12:00 (CET). An in-depth workshop with Somatic Movement online on Zoom. This time we delve into the anatomy of the back and unconscious muscle tension along our spine. Tension here is very common and sooner or later it leads to pain and it also limits your mobility, both in your tango and in your everyday life. The pain can also manifest as sciatica, recurrent back pain, herniated discs or as a kind of fatigue because these muscle tensions take an unnecessary amount of energy from you. For the workshop you need nothing more than a mat, comfortable clothes, a quiet place to be and access to a connection. Cost: Euro 40 (450 SEK). Zoom link comes in connection with registration. The workshop will be held in English.

Somatic Sunday: Let´s twist again

Date: Sunday, June 15, 10:00-12:00 (CET). We continue our exploration with: Let's twist again 🙂 Much of our body movements are about spirals and rotating the body in different ways. (For those of you who dance tango, pivoting is a big part of the dance). When there are tensions that limit the natural movement in spirals through the body, it can manifest as movement restrictions or pain in different places in the body. Often these come around our joints and depending on where the tensions are, different joints can be more or less affected. This workshop is good for those of you who want to increase or maintain your mobility and for those of you who want to take good care of your joints to avoid or relieve pain. For the workshop you need nothing more than a mat, comfortable clothes, a quiet place to be and access to a connection. Cost: Euro 40 (450 SEK). Zoom link will be sent in connection with registration. The workshop will be held in English.

Workshops on request

Do you have a passion for tango and want to be able to continue dancing? Are you planning for workshops and are interested in themes about tango and keeping healty as a tango dancer?

I hold workshops on demand. Here are some examples, but you are also very welcome to contact me for suggestions.

Anatomy of the Tango

Are you looking for a deeper understanding of how you can use your body in a way that is more optimal both for your tango and for your health? I go through the anatomical structures and show models of skeletons to give an understanding of how it all fits together. We search for and experience how the structures feel in our own body. In this way, you first get a theoretical understanding which is then deepened by the experienced anatomy of your own body. We conclude by seeing how the anatomy affects us in our tango and how we can create the best conditions for a comfortable and sustainable dance.

The body's fascia (connective tissue) - what is it and what does it have to do with tango?

This is how it works.

Our fascia is what actually holds our entire body together. It is found in and around our muscles, our joints, our organs and our bones. When the fascia becomes stiff, it's like wearing a sweater that's too tight, we can't fit. It makes our dancing uncomfortable and it often leads to pain that can prevent you from dancing or make you limited in your repertoire. I go through methods that are both effective and gentle to take care of your fascia and you get the opportunity to try it yourself and ask questions.

Resistance Stretching

An effective way to maintain and increase your mobility.

Many of us have been told that we should stretch...but not so much about HOW to do it in the best way. Stretching often involves bringing a muscle to its most stretched position and holding it there for a certain period of time. Does that sound familiar? What happens then is that we increase the mobility around our joints. Contrary to what many people think, it is not where we want increased mobility, our joints do well with stability. What is required, however, for our muscles to quickly shorten in a boleo and then relax and lengthen is that we take care of our connective tissue inside the muscles. Come and try it and you will discover the difference yourself.

Curious?

Register your interest and you will receive mailings about upcoming courses, events and try-on opportunities.
